"동물의 불안과 희망으로부터 제한되어 있다, 그렇기에 그들의 의식은 매우 명확하며 현재 순간에 제한되어 있다. 동물들은 현재의 환생과 같다" 

 전 쇼펜하우어의 말에 전적으로 동의합니다. 또한, 사람들은 동물과 식물의 태도이자 특성을 배워야 한다고 생각합니다. 

지금까지 후회스러운 과거와 예지치 못한 미래에 참으로 많은 고통을 받아왔습니다. 그렇기에 전 평화로운 숲의 한구루의 나무가 되거나 동물이 되길 종종 소망하고는 했습니다. 

왜냐하면 동식물들은 자신에게 주어진 환경 속에서 현재에 온전히 집중하기 때문입니다. 그렇기에 사람들은 동식물이 가지고 있는 고유한 그 힘이자 생명력을 느끼기 위해서 곁에 둔다고 생각합니다. 

설령 그것이 작은 화분 혹은 방안일지라도, 결국에 하나의 작은 인조 된 자연이 될지라도 말이죠. 제 소망이자 사람들의 소망을 화분이라는 주제로 표현하고자 합니다. 

 “The animal lacks both anxiety and hope because its consciousness is restricted to what is clearly evident and thus to the present moment: the animal is the present incarnate........" -Schopenhauer I totally agree with Schopenhauer’s perspective; we have to learn from Animals and plants traits. I have suffered a lot from my miserable past and unpredictable future. From time to time, I want to be an animal or even a tree in a tranquil forest because they concentrate on their present life within a given environment. That’s why people want to see and keep them around to feel their energy, even in a small pot or room. Eventually, it became an artificial nature for us.

The first artwork of the 1000pots series depicts a tiny Harvest mouse within Philodendron Pink Princess. 

#1000pots 시리즈의 첫번 째 작품으로 필로덴드론 핑크프린세스를 담은 화분 안에 작은 수확쥐가 어딘가를 향해 응시하고 있다.

I intended to put three Gummy bears in front of the snake. Why did I do it? I wanted to make a story between the snake and the jellies like on a stage. Imagine, what happened between them… 

작은 구미메어 3마리를 을도적으로 뱀 앞에 두었다. 왜 그랬냐 스스로에게 자문해 본다면, 이 둘 사이에 작은 이야기를 만들어 내고 싶었다. 마치 연극의 무대처럼 말이다. 상상해보라, 이 둘사이에 무슨 일이 있었는지.

Snake plant, snake toy, ladybug, rabbit, and sky. 

아주 간단하다. 산세베리아, 장남감 뱀, 무당벌레, 토끼, 그리고 하늘이 있다. 덧붙이자면 산세베리아는 스네이크라는 이름을 가지고 있다. 작가 혼자 상상한 말장난이다.
